APOLLO BEACH, June 2 / MediaQuire / -- Angels for Foster Kids, a non-profit organization that helps and grants wishes for foster kids, announced today that they have been awarded $7,500 from the Community Foundation of Greater Sun City Center from a bequest made to it by Hadley and Helen Hill Fund.
"We are so thankful for this grant and the opportunity to serve the foster children of Hillsborough County. We are planning to fulfill 60 wishes by September," says AFK Founder and Director, Margaret Iuculano.
Founded in 2007, Angels for Foster Kids works to provide emergency shelters for abused children and emergency financial support for families in crisis. In addition, they support child service programs designed to enhance foster children's opportunities for success, improve their education, personal skill development, and living conditions.
"We couldn't be more appreciative of the support from the Community Foundation of Greater Sun City Center and its bequest made by Hadley and Helen Hill Fund to help local foster kids. Not only will this grant assist us in helping foster kids' 'wishes', it will help to raise awareness for our Angels for Foster Kids Foundation that works hard to make a difference," explained Margaret Iuculano.
Angels for Foster Kids strives to relieve hardship circumstances for foster kids not covered by child welfare. Since May 2010, the AFK foundation has granted 21 wishes with a total value of $7,300.
"Our long term goal is to fulfill wishes for 2500 children who are currently part of the child welfare system in our county. We have proposals out to other funders in hopes of reaching this goal," says Margaret Iuculano.
